Third concert of the season by the Camerata du Mont-Blanc and the chamber ensemble In Octo

Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, written at the age of 26 in the final weeks before his death, is one of those poignant works in which great composers bequeathed a lifetime of work to posterity (Pergolesi's genius lay in its brevity). A great masterpiece, on a par with Haydn's Harmoniemesse or Mozart's Requiem.

It is with this choice piece that the next concert by the vocal ensemble In Octo and the Camerata du Mont-Blanc will begin.

Also on the programme are JS Bach's famous Aria from Suite No. 3 in D Major BWV 1068, Cantata BWV 196 ‘Der Herr denket an uns’ and Gabriel Fauré's Cantique de Jean Racine.

The concert will close with a surprise, heralding further programmes for the two groups together.

This programme will also be performed at ND de toute Grâce church in Plateau d'Assy on Saturday 26 April at 6pm.

Reservations are strongly recommended, however, and should be made by contacting the association (by 12 noon on the day of the concert) by e-mail or text message to the details below, indicating for each participant: Surname, first name, e-mail address and mobile phone number.

Doors open half an hour before the concert.
