Les Rencontres de la Camerata

Workshop (4 h) and Concert (1 h) by and with musicians and singers from the Camerata du Mont-Blanc and In Octo

The "Camerata Encounters" combine the rich (and sometimes little-known) architectural and natural heritage of our valleys with music and the public in the intimacy of the region's baroque chapels, for encounters in small groups with the musicians of the Camerata du Mont-Blanc and the chamber music repertoire. These mini-concerts can also be an opportunity to involve visiting musicians (or singers) or students of a good level (registration required).

The sight-reading sessions take place in the afternoon and are open to the public. A concert is organised at 7pm. Rehearsals are free, but concert bookings must be made by e-mail bernard.perrin@e-xter.com or sms + 33 6 85 73 54 48 before 12 noon on the day of the concert.

The aim of the Rencontres is to bring classical music to life in our mountain regions by associating it with their natural and architectural heritage, in particular the baroque buildings (churches, chapels) with which they are abundantly endowed. The works presented are usually contemporary with the construction of these structures.
The Rencontres de la Camerata therefore have a dual purpose:

- showcasing these small baroque chapels, jewels in the crown of the local built heritage, with their varied and often highly interesting acoustics
- meetings between musicians, both amateur and professional, invited to stay in our valleys, and the musicians and singers of the Camerata du Mont-Blanc and the vocal ensemble In Octo, during workshops followed by mini-concerts.
